Surya Devbhoomi Challenge 2.0 is a 113 KM high altitude endurance challenge set amidst the sacred Himalayas of Uttarakhand.
An Indian Army initiative, in association with IconMetrix, and supported by Uttarakhand Tourism, the event is also officially listed on the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) calendar, bringing together endurance athletes to test their resilience across historic Himalayan routes.
This is more than a race, it is a journey where endurance meets heritage.

Sacred Himalayan Route & Technical Overview

Day 1 – Helang to Kalgot
A powerful introduction through ancient mountain roads and dense forest trails, entering the serene Urgam Valley.
Distance : 35.5 KM

Elevation Change : +10,212 ft / -6,236 ft
Terrain Mix : 18 km trail / 17.5 km road
Key Landmark : Kalpeshwar Temple (7,200 ft)

Day 2 – Kalgot to Mandal
A demanding high altitude stretch crossing traditional Himalayan villages and untouched ecological zones.
Distance : 39 KM
Date : 18th April 2026
Elevation Change : +12,400 ft / -9,800 ft
Terrain Mix : 37.5 km trail / 1.5 km road
Key Landmark : Rudranath Temple (11,840 ft) – Peak Elevation

Day 3 – Mandal to Ukhimath
A demanding high altitude stretch crossing traditional Himalayan villages and untouched ecological zones.
Distance : 38 KM
Date : 19th April 2026
Elevation Change : +8,500 ft / -10,200 ft
Terrain Mix : 35.65 km trail / 2.35 km road
Key Landmark : Tungnath (11,410 ft) & Deoria Tal
